The Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA), established under the aegis of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), promotes peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology for sustainable socio-economic development across the region. In 2026, India assumed the Chairmanship of RCA. As a founding member of the Agreement and a long-standing contributor to regional cooperation, India’s engagement with RCA reflects decades of scientific collaboration, capacity building, and developmental partnership.

RCA General Conference Meeting 2026
70th IAEA General Conference, 14-18 September 2026, Vienna AUSTRIA
The General Conference Meeting (GCM) of RCA will be held in Vienna, Austria during the 70th General Conference of the IAEA from 14-18 September 2026. The GCM shall bring together the National Representatives, RCARO, and IAEA officials to deliberate up on the collaborative avenues and strategies to further strengthen civil nuclear cooperation.
DAE Hosts the 48th NRM
The 48th National Representatives Meeting (NRM) of RCA was hosted by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, in Navi Mumbai from 19-22 May 2026. The meeting brought together representatives, experts, institutions, RCARO, and IAEA officials to discuss RCA programme implementation, future collaborative initiatives, and strengthen regional cooperation.
A technical visit for delegates was arranged at ACTREC, Kharghar.

48th NRM Technical Visit, Exhibition, and Interactions
ACTREC hosted the delegates for a guided tour during the 48th NRM to the advanced healthcare setup enabled by nuclear research. The technical exhibition brought the delegates up-close with the domain experts and scientists on technologies and products fostered by the Department of Atomic Energy.
